Post Description

Pay Scale   PAY LEVEL – 10 IN PAY MATRIX (Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500).
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Government Servant upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
B. Experience - Possessing three years’ experience in Civil Engineering.

Note1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Note 2 The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Construction material survey, collection of construction materials such as soil, rock and aggregates samples and geotechnical data from project sites conducting field tests at the project site, conducting laboratory tests on the construction materials, analysis and compilation of tests results, preparation of reports, formulation of project proposals, Research and Development activities, publication of research papers and collection and maintenance of data base on the area of activities.
Probation   One Year
Headquarters   Central Soil and Materials Research Station, New Delhi, with All India Service Liability .
Other Details   General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non Ministerial. The post is permanent.

The post is not suitable for “ Ataxic” in One Arm affected subcategory and One Leg affected (OL) subcategory of Locomotor Disability category of PwBD.
