Post Description
Pay Scale | Level – 10 (Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500/-) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P.) Rules, 2016. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56,100/- plus DA as applicable per month). |
Age | Not exceeding 35 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date for vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Caste candidates as on normal closing date for vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s) |
A. Educational:- Master’s Degree in Chemistry / AIC by examination / Physics / Forensic Science with Chemistry or Physics as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University. B. Experience:- Three years experience of analytical methods and research therein in the field of Documents in any Central Government or State Government organization or recognized research institute or Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government. Note 1: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of the candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 2: The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. |
Desirable Qualification (s) | Experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory. |
Duty(ies) | Crime Scene Management, Crime Case Examination, bestow expert testimony/de’facto in the courts of law on subject matter under the provision of Cr.P.C. and Indian Evidence Act/Information Technology Act, R&D activities on Forensic Activities and imparting training in their respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations. |
Probation | 01 (One) year. |
Headquarters | Head Quarter is at New Delhi with Laboratories at Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Guwahati & Pune. In connection with performing his duties the officer may be required to serve in any part of India. |
