Post Description

Pay Scale   As per 7th CPC- Level-11 (Rs. 67700-150800/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 67700/- plus DA as applicable per month.)
Age   Not exceeding 40 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 43 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date for vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paras of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection.’ Note- The eligibility criteria i.e. Age, Experience etc. will be counted as on 16.04.2020 as this vacancy was originally scheduled to be launched with vacancy details on 28.03.2020 with the closing date 16.04.2020.
Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational-
Master’s degree in Geology or Hydrology or degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. The equivalent word is defined as under-
(a). M. Tech. (Water Resources Development / Irrigation Water Management/Irrigation & Drainage Engineering/ Hydraulics Engineering/Soil & Water Conservation Engineering/Geo-Exploration)
(b). Bachelor of Technology Civil (Water Resources Engineering) – (BTWRE).
B. Experience-
5 year’s practical experience in Hydrology preferably in Ground Water Hydrology.

Note 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of the candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Experience in different methods employed in the Ground Water exploration.
Duty(ies)   Preparation of manuals and other guidelines regarding hydrological studies. Supervise the work in the Hydrological and Hydrometeorological section. Collection of Hydrological data and preparation of Basic Data reports. Computerization of data in Data Bank, assisting in preparation of maps and reports. Compilation of technical reports and arranging for issuance of reports. Data collection and processing for specific studies Maintenance and updating of technical record and data in Technical Section.
Probation   One (01) year.
Headquarters   Central Ground Water Board, Central Head Quarter, Faridabad (Haryana) 121001 with All India Service Liabilities.
Other Details   General Central Services, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, (Non-Ministerial, Scientific and Technical). The vacancies for the post are permanent.
