Post Description

Pay Scale   Level – 10 (Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500/-) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P.) Rules, 2016. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56,100/- plus DA as applicable per month).
Age   Not exceeding 35 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Caste candidates as on normal closing date for vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational-
Master’s Degree in Physics from a recognized University or Institute.

B. Experience-
Having at least three years research experience in Physics.

Note 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of the candidates otherwise well qualified.

Note 2 The qualification(s) are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   To carry out research in Physics applied to projects in the discipline of Seismology, Vibration Technology, Geophysics, and Hydrology by way of field data collection, laboratory testing, data analysis and interpretation and mathematical modeling
Probation   01 (One) year.
Headquarters   Khadakwasla, Pune, with All India Service Liability.
Other Details   General Central Services, Group ‘A’ Gazetted. Non-Ministerial. The posts are permanent.
