Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Matrix Level-12 plus NPA as admissible under the rules.
Age   Not exceeding 45 years as on the normal closing date. Not exceeding 50 years for Scheduled Castes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 48 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATION

(i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

(ii) Double Post-Graduation i.e. basic essential M.D./ M.S. along with M.Ch. or D.M. in the speciality mentioned in Schedule II i.e. M.Ch. (Cardio-thoracic Surgery)/ M.Ch. (Thoracic Surgery) from a recognized University or Speciality Board of Thoracic Surgery (USA) or equivalent.

B. Experience Two years’ working experience after obtaining the first post graduate degree of M.S. or M.D.

NOTE- 1 The candidates holding DNB qualifications would need to get their qualification verified by NBE as to whether it is as per the requirement of the Gazette Notification No.MCI-12(2)/2010-Med.Misc. dated 11.06.2012 and upload such verification certificate alongwith the online application.

NOTE- 2 The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India.

NOTE- 3 The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

NOTE- 4 The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at discretion of the Commission, for reason to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and the Schedule Tribes if, at any stage of selection, the Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Independently manage the concerned clinical super-speciality in all aspects including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up conduct academic and developmental activities. Perform administrative activities related to the speciality. Any other job assigned by the administration.
Probation   One year.
Headquarters   New Delhi.
Other Details   General Central Service Group ‘A’ (Gazetted Non-Ministerial) Services. The posts are Permanent.
