Post Description

Pay Scale   Rs. 8,000-13,500 (Revised Level-10 in the pay matrix Rs.56,100-1,77,500/- plus NPA)
Age   Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Class candidates as on the normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATION

(i) A recognized Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of the Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in the sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

(ii) Completion of Compulsory rotating internship.


NOTE-1 The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India.

NOTE-2 The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Three years’ Experience in Family Planning and educational method of including training in technique of medical termination of pregnancy and tubectomy operations.
Duty(ies)   LMO will be responsible for implementation of Family Welfare Programme. She will provide consultation on Family Welfare methods, carry out IUD insertion and perform/arrange for sterilization operation of volunteers. She will be required to make home visits for promotion of Family Welfare and also be responsible for administration of Family Welfare Centres in Armed Forces.
Probation   02 years
Headquarters   Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi.
Other Details   General Central Service Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are permanent.
Any Other Conditions   The LMO(FW) will have to serve anywhere in India. Only female candidates are eligible for the post.
