Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level- 7
Age   Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 33 years for Other backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ UT Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/order issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
Essential Qualification (s)   A- EDUCATIONAL
(i) Degree in Engineering in Civil or Computer Science or Information Technology or Master Degree in Mathematics or Geography or Geophysics or Computer Applications or Computer Science or Information Technology
Or
Pass in the final examination of the institution of surveyors in sub-division1(B) Hydrographic surveying.

B- EXPERIENCE

(ii) Two years experience Nautical Chart Compilation and Digital Cartography. Experience should be from Government or autonomous organization or statutory body or public sector undertaking or University or recognized research institution

Note- The qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   (i) Certificate or diploma in foreign language , preferably French.
(ii) At least one year experience in application of geographical information system technology.
Duty(ies)   Confirmation of Geodetic data, calculation and plotting of projections to assist in compilation of navigational and other charts.
Probation   Two years
Headquarters   Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence(Navy)
Other Details   General Central Service Group B’ Gazetted (Non-Ministerial). These posts are permanent.
