Post Description

Pay Scale   As per the 7th CPC Level 12 of the pay matrix (Rs. 78000- 209200) Total Emoulments Rs. 78000 plus other allowance as applicable at the time of appointment
Age   Not exceeding 50 years Note 1 Not exceeding 50 years (Relaxable for Government servants upto five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the central government.)
Essential Qualification (s)   Essential Qualification- Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute and

Essential Experience- Ten years experience in planning, execution and supervision of civil engineering works in Government sector or in any Archaeological or heritage site.

Note 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Desirable Qualificaiton- Masters degree in Civil Engineering

Desirable Experience- Experience in preservation of ancient monuments.
Duty(ies)   To advise, the Head of the Engineering Branch of the Archaeological Survey of India, on all aspects of Conservation engineering and frame general programmes for repairs of ancient monuments and original works. Prepare conservation estimates, analyses the rates, details of measurement, bill of quantities, abstract of costs, tendering, execution and supervision of work at site.
Probation   One year
Headquarters   Hqrs. New Delhi liable to serve anywhere in India
Other Details   The post is permanent, General Central Service, Group’A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
Any Other Conditions   Candidates selected for the post will, during the period of probation, be required to undergo training as per requirements of the job prescribed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
