Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level- 11
Age   Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ UT Government Servant upto 05 years as per instructions/order issued by Govt. of India from time to time. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants. Please see relevant para of the “instructions and Additional Information to candidates for Recruitment by Selection.”
Essential Qualification (s)   A- EDUCATIONAL-
Degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent*.
*Equivalent means any Technical Institutes recognized by AICTE/UGC and not to be construed as educational qualification.
B- EXPERIENCE-
Five years practical experience in design / installation /construction of ships
Note- The qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   (i) Undertake basic and detailed design of mechanical / marine engineering system of new design and modifications to existing design of ships, submarines.
(ii) Scrutinise, analyse and approve quotations, specifications, calculation and drawings received from outside agencies.
(iii) Examine technical interface problems of changes in contractual / specifications during construction of ships.
Probation   One year
Headquarters   Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) Delhi
Other Details   General Central Service, Group A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   Liable to serve anywhere in India.
