Post Description

Pay Scale   Level – 7 (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400/-) as per pay matrix of 7th CPC. Total Emoluments – Rs. 44900/- plus DA as applicable per month.
Age   Not exceeding 30 years as on closing date. Not exceeding 30 years for EWS candidates as on closing date in respect of the vacancy reserved for them. Not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates as on closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 40 years for PwBDs candidates as on closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government servants upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational:-
Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Economics or Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Note-I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. Experience:-
Two years’ experience in the field of mining or compilation or processing of data, pertaining to mining or geology or utilization and marketing of minerals and their products in organization dealing with mines and minerals or in a Government department dealing with mines and minerals.

Note-II: The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Collection, compilation, processing and tabulation of data received from mineral producers, consumers, exploration agencies, State Directorates of Geology and Mining, State Directorates of Industries, etc. required for various activities of the Division and such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Controller General or any other officers authorized by him.
Probation   Two Years
Headquarters   HQ is in Nagpur (Maharashtra) with service liability anywhere in India.
Other Details   The post is General Central Services, Group ‘B’ Non-Ministerial, Gazetted. The vacancies for the post are permanent.
