| Pay Scale | Level – 08 (Rs.47,600-1,51,100/-) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P.) Rules, 2016. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 47,600/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately) |
| Age | Not exceeding 30 years for General and EWS Category Candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Class Candidates and not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Govt. / UT Govt. servants upto five years as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Educational - Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Geo-chemistry or Marine Geology or Earth Science & Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Area Studies (Coastal Geology) or Environmental Geology or Geo-informatics from a recognized University or Institution. Note- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. |

| Any Other Conditions | Every appointee on his/ her 1st appointment in Geological Survey of India shall have to successfully complete the induction or orientation training conducted by Geological Survey of India Training Institute, Hyderabad and execute a surety bond of Rs. 3 lakhs where he/she has to serve GSI for 3 yrs. continuously from the date of successful completion of the induction training. |
