Post Description
Pay Scale | As per 7th CPC- Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/-plus DA per month as applicable approximately.) |
Age | 35 years for General and EWS category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 (forty) years for Scheduled Tribes candidates and not exceeding 38 (thirty eight) years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s) |
A. EDUCATIONAL: Masters Degree in applied Geology or Geology from a recognized University or Institute. Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. B. EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in carrying out geological appraisals of minerals or ore deposits or research/teaching experience in the field of Geology or Applied Geology in a recognised Institution. Note: The qualification(s) regarding experience is or are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. |
Desirable Qualification (s) | Experience in Geographical Information System and remote sensing application. |
Duty(ies) | Conducting integrated Geological Studies and studies for appraisal of mineral deposits through inspection of mines in any part of India under the provision of MCDE. Periodic updation of National Mineral Inventory of leasehold areas. Inspection of Prospecting Licence area and stopping proposal, mine environmental/pollution control, techno-economic feasibility studies of the deposit and scrutiny of mining plan/scheme, etc. Guiding and supervising the work of such officers who are placed under them. |
