Post Description
Pay Scale | Pay Level-10 (Rs. 56,100/ - 1,77,500/-) of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Total emolument excluding HRA & TA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56,100/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately. |
Age | Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date for general/EWS/SC/ST categories candidates. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to Five (05) years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s) |
A. Educational Degree in law from a recognized university. Note1 The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. B. Experience Three years experience in the field of Legal Practice. |
Desirable Qualification (s) | Out of total experience, at least one year experience of Legal Practice in Aviation matters such as leasing of aircraft, liability regime, acquisition and merger of airlines. |
Duty(ies) | The duties of Legal Officer require making drafts, proposals for carrying out amendments in the Aircraft Act, 1934 and the air craft Rules, 1937 examination of legal matters, preparation and vetting of legal affidavits, filing of complaints in the court and other legal matters concerning civil aviation matters. Processing of provisions of International aviation law for adoption in Indian legislation. |
Probation | Two years for direct recruits subject to successful completion of mandatory induction training. |

Other Details | General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent. |
Any Other Conditions | Training The newly inducted officers shall be provided an induction training for a period of minimum two weeks to enable officers to get a general understanding about the organization, its vision and mission and acquire necessary competency required for performing their job. After completion of initial induction training, the newly inducted officers will be provided on the job training to enable them to handle their responsibility independently. |
