Post Description

Pay Scale   Level-13 of the Central Pay Scales plus such allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government from time to time plus NPA only for Medical Graduates.
Age   Not exceeding 50 years as on the normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   I. A.
(i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.

(ii) M.D.( Pharmacology)/ MBBS with Ph.D.( Medical Pharmacology) from a recognised University/ Institution or equivalent

B.
(i) M.Sc.( Medical Pharmacology) from a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) Ph.D.( Medical Pharmacology)/ D.Sc.( Medical Pharmacology) from a recognised University/ Institution or equivalent

II. Ten years’ experience in the profession after acquiring Post Graduate qualification, out of which four years should be as Reader/ Associate Professor in a Recognised Medical College/ Teaching Institution.

NOTE- 1 The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Minimum four research publications indexed in Index Medicus/ National journals and one Research Publication in International Journals.
Duty(ies)   The duties of Professor(Pharmacology) will be to teach the undergraduate( MBBS) and Post-graduate students, training of interns, paramedical staff, research work and Administrative work of the Department of Pharmacology.
Probation   One year for direct recruits.
Headquarters   Chandigarh.
Other Details   General Central Service Group ‘A’ Gazetted Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   • Candidates recruited to the post will be covered by the New Contributory Pension Scheme. • Private Practice of any kind, including laboratory and consultant practice is strictly prohibited. • The candidate so appointed shall have to join his or her duties within one month from the date of issue of appointment letter. • The candidate so appointed in this institute shall not be allowed to apply for the post for employment outside the Administration for a period of two years from the date of joining.
