Post Description

Pay Scale	Level-11 of the Central Pay Scales plus such allowances as may sanction by the Government from time to time Plus NPA as per Rules.
Age	Not exceeding 50 years for UR as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)	A. EDUCATIONAL (a) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. (b) M.D. (Psychiatry)/ M.D. (Psychological Medicine)/ M.D. (Medicine) with Diploma in Psychological Medicine from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent. B. EXPERIENCE Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring post-graduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar/ Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a Recognized Medical College/ Teaching Institution. Note The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the U.P.S.C. in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)
Duty(ies)	The duties of Senior Lecturer (Psychiatry) will be to teach the undergraduate (MBBS) and Post-graduate students, training of interns, paramedical staff and research work.
Probation	One year for direct recruits.
Headquarters	Chandigarh.
Other Details	General Central Service, Group ‘A’ Gazetted, (Non-Ministerial). The posts are permanent.
Any Other Conditions	(a) Candidates recruited to the post will be covered by the New Contributory Pension Scheme. (b) Private practice, of any kind, including laboratory and consultant practice, is strictly prohibited. (c) The candidate so appointed shall have to join his/her duties within one month from the date of issue of appointment letter. (d) The candidate so appointed in this institute shall not be allowed to apply for the post for employment outside the Administration for a period of two years from the date of joining the post.
