Post Description

Pay Scale   Level 10 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500/-) of 7th CPC.
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government servants upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   Educational
(a) Bachelor’s Degree in Dari language with English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level from a recognized University.
OR
(b) (i) Bachelor degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University or Institution, and
(ii) Diploma in Dari language with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India.
Note The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Three years’ experience in teaching and/or translating relevant foreign language (Dari) into English and vice-versa.
Duty(ies)   • Translation into English of intercepted traffic, recorded tapes and printed material. Perusal & checking of translation work of unit translators.
• Translation of materials received from Military Intelligence Directorate and other sources.
• Preparation of training exercises for languages trained personnel.
• Maintenance of foreign language publications, collation of intelligence information.
Probation   One Year
Headquarters   New Delhi(with All India Service Liability).
Other Details   General Central Service, Group A’, Gazetted, Non- Ministerial. This post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   NPS wef 01.01.2004.
