Post Description

Pay Scale   Level-11 in the pay matrix (Rs. 67,700-2,08,700/-) Plus NPA .
Age   Not exceeding 40 years for UR and Not exceeding 45 years for SC Candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATION

(i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).

(i) Post-Graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned speciality or super speciality mentioned in Section A in Schedule VI of CHS Rules 2019 i.e. Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) or Master of Surgery (Anaesthesiology) or Diplomate of National Board (Anaesthesiology) or Post-Graduate Diploma in Anaesthesiology.

B. EXPERIENCE Three years experience in the concerned speciality or super speciality after obtaining the first Postgraduate degree or 5 years’ experience after the post-graduate diploma.

Note-1 Doctorate of Medicine (DM) or Magister Chirurguie (M.Ch) qualification of three years’ duration shall be counted towards requirement of experience in the concerned broad speciality.

Note-2 Doctorate of Medicine (DM) or Magister Chirurguie (M.Ch.) of five years’ duration shall be taken as three years for completion of post graduate degree and the last two years of the said Doctorate of Medicine (DM) Or Magister Chirurguie (M.Ch.) shall be counted towards requirement of teaching experience.

NOTE- 3 The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at discretion of the UPSC, for reason to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from the community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   1) To conduct and guide research work in the specialty
2) To render patient care in the specialty.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the authorities from time to time
Probation   1 year for direct recruits.
Headquarters   Delhi with liability to serve anywhere in India.
Other Details   Group ‘A’ Non-teaching Specialist Sub-cadre of Central Health Services. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   The other conditions of service as laid down in the CHS Rules, 2014, and other rules in force from time to time in particular. 2. Private practice, of any kind, including laboratory and consultant practice , is strictly prohibited. 3. The candidates selected will, if so required shall be liable to serve in any Defence service or post connected with the Defence of India, for a period not less than four years including the period spent in training, if any Provided that such officer shall not(a) be required to serve as aforesaid after the expiry of ten years from the date of appointment or from the date of joining the service, (b) Ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid after attaining the age of 45 years. 4. All the vacancies are permanent. But the vacancies are filled on temporary basis and appointees are confirmed/made permanent on satisfactorily completion of period of probation.
