Post Description

Pay Scale   Level-10 of the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC.
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 Years for Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates and not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Classes candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL

Degree in Aeronautical or Electrical or Electronics or Mechanical OR Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized university.
B. EXPERIENCE

Two (02) year’s experience in aircraft design and development including aircraft electrical or electronics or mechanical systems or airworthiness engineering.


Note – Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

NOTE-II The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualificaiton (s)   One year experience in aeronautical research and development or design or laboratory investigation of failed aircraft parts or Flight Recorders involved in accident or incident or Airworthiness Engineering.
Duty(ies)   Responsible for all type certificate work including approval of engineering drawings, witnessing of static and other related tests to determine conformity of design features and manufacturing process to relevant airworthiness requirements. To assist Director (AE) on spot approval of structural modifications etc.
Probation   Two years
Head Quarter   Directorate General of Civil Aviation, opp. Safdarjung Airport, Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi -110 003 with all India Service liability .
Other Details   General Central Service, Group “A”, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   Candidates having Colour Blindness are not suitable for the post.
