|Essential Qualificaiton (s)||
Degree in Mining Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology or Metallurgy from a recognized University or Institution or equivalent
Master ’s Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or Ore Dressing or Chemistry or Physics from a recognized University or Institution or equivalent
Fifteen years experience in guiding research in a well equipped laboratory or pilot plant conducting Ore Dressing or Mineral beneficiation or Mineral agglomeration work.
• A well equipped laboratory may be defined as a laboratory recognized as a research laboratory by (a) Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR)/Department of Science and Technology (DST) or any other such Government Organization or (b) by a University, for the purpose of accepting the work of research scholar for grant of Ph.D.
A pilot plant may be defined as a small industrial system, which is operated to generate information about the behavior of the system for use in design of larger facilities.
Note - Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified
|Desirable Qualificaiton (s)||
(i) Post Graduate degree in Engineering subject concerned or Doctorate Degree in Geology or Chemistry or Physics from a recognized University.
(ii) Working knowledge of computer with special emphasis on commonly used software in office.
|Duty(ies)||Director (Ore Dressing) is responsible to hold charge of the Ore Dressing Division as a whole and for the Planning, direction and management of the research work of all the three establishments. The work includes investigations on bench and pilot plant scales on mineral beneficiation, mineral agglomeration, hydrometallurgy, chemical and instrumental analysis and mineralogical examination of minerals, ores and ore dressing products. The division also undertakes Technical Consultancy assignment for the preparation of detailed feasibility reports of ore dressing projects, investigation of difficulties experienced in commercial ore dressing plants and suggesting remedial measures etc.|
