Post Description

Pay Scale   Level-7 (Rs.44900-142400) in revised Pay Matrix. Group ‘B’ (Gazetted), GCS (Non-Ministerial).
Age   Not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL
(i) Bachelor’s Degree in the Tamil Language from a recognized University or equivalent
(ii) Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Library Science of a recognized University/Institute or equivalent.

Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. EXPERIENCE
Two years’ experience in a recognized Library or two years’ experience in computerization of a recognized library or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute or equivalent.

Note The qualifications(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Master’s Degree in Library Science of a recognized University / Institute or equivalent.
Duty(ies)   ALIO (Tamil) executes all the activities of Tamil Division, Supervises technical and professional works, submits plans and proposal for development of Tamil Division and maintains day-to-day administration of the Tamil Division.
Probation   Two years.
