Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level- 12
Age   Not exceeding 48 years for OBC candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ UT Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/order issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL-
Degree in Naval Architecture from a recognized University.

B. EXPERIENCE-
08 years practical experience in design, construction, survey and repairs of ships carried out in ship building or ship repairing yards or any design or survey organization after the period of degree course.
Note- (i) The qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Survey and inspection of sailing vessel, Inspection of Hull including details relating to Form, Design, Stability Strength and sub-division etc. Measurement of Passenger accommodation. Survey of Load Lines, Partial Survey of LSA during constructions and other duties arising under M.S.Act 1958 and Rules framed there under.
Probation   One year for direct recruits.
Headquarters   Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai and Mercantile Marine Departments located at various parts in India
Other Details   General Central Service, Group A’ Gazetted Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   Governed by New Pension Scheme wef 01/01/2004.
