Post Description

Pay Scale   As per 7th CPC- Level-10 (Rs. 56100 – 177500/-) in the Pay Matrix (Pre-revised Rs. 15,600-39,100 (PB-3) plus Rs. 5400 (Grade Pay). (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56100/- plus DA as applicable per month.)
Age   Not exceeding 35 years for General Category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Caste candidates as on normal closing date in case of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government/UT Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational-
M.Sc Degree in Agricultural Chemistry or M.Sc in Chemistry with specialization either in Organic Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized University or Institution.

Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of the candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. Experience-
Three years practical experience of work relating to analysis of Pesticides using modern sophisticated analytical instruments such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, High performance liquid chromatography, Gas Liquid Chromatography, etc. in a Central Government or State Government Department or Public Sector undertaking or Agricultural University or in an Autonomous or Statutory or Semi-Government Organization or in any recognized Research Institute or Councils.

Note The qualification(s) regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Doctorate degree in Agricultural Chemistry or Doctorate Degree in Chemistry (with Research work on Pesticides related subjects) from a recognized University.
Duty(ies)   a) Analysis of pesticides & residues by latest physic-chemical methods.
b) Training, research & development work on modern instrumental methods.
c) Determination of pesticides contamination in environment.
d) National surveys on residue analysis to determine the extent of contamination of food, food commodities and assist in establishment of tolerance limits.
e) National Surveys on Quality control of pesticides formulations held in the market as per ISI specifications and Training of analysis in modern techniques of pesticide analysis.
Probation   One (01) year
Headquarters   Headquarter in Faridabad, Haryana with liability to serve anywhere in India.
Other Details   It is a General Central Service Group ‘A’, Gazetted, (Non-Ministerial) post. The vacancies for the post are permanent.
