Post Description
| Pay Scale | As per 7th CPC- Level-10 (Rs. 56100 – 177500/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56100/- plus DA as applicable per month.) |
| Age | Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Class (OBC) category candidates as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government/UT Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paras of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection.’ |
| Essential Qualification (s) |
A. Educational:- Master’s degree in Physics or Mathematics or Forensic Science with Physics or Mathematics or Forensic Science as one of the subject at B.Sc. level from a recognized University or equivalent* Note : M. Sc. (Applied Physics) may be taken as equivalent*. B. Experience:- 03 years experience of analytical methods/research therein in the **relevant field. Note: **Experience in the relevant field means Research/Analytical experience in the field of Ballistics/Physics. |
| Desirable Qualification (s) | Doctorate degree in concerned discipline from a recognized University or equivalent. |
| Duty(ies) | The officer is required to examine crime exhibits, visit scenes of crime, to depose expert evidence in courts and to assist Senior Officer. The responsibilities attached with the post also require research and development. |

| Headquarters | In the National Capital Territory of Delhi |
| Other Details | GCS, Group-A, Gazetted, Non Ministerial. The post is temporary but likely to be continued indefinitely. |
