Post Description

Pay Scale   As per 7th CPC-Level 11(Rs 67700 – 208700/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding HRA and TA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs 67700/- Plus DA as applicable per month approximately)
Age   Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions / orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paras of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection.
Essential Qualification (s)   (A) Educational -
Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics or Agricultural Extension or Agronomy or Entomology or Nematology or Genetics and Plant Breeding or Agriculture Botany or Plant Bio-technology or Plant Pathology or Plant Physiology or Seed Science and Technology or Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry.

Or

Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

(B) Experience-

For Master’s Degree Holders - Three years experience in the area of production and productivity in food or cash crops, e.g., rice or wheat or pulse or millet or sugarcane or cotton or jute or oilseeds in a Central Government or State Government office or Public Sector Undertaking or autonomous body or any recognized institution.



For Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering Holders - Four years experience in the area of production and productivity in food or cash crops, e.g., rice or wheat or pulse or millet or sugarcane or cotton or jute or oilseeds in a Central Government or State Government office or Public Sector Undertaking or autonomous body or any recognized institution.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Doctorate in the disciplines mentioned under essential criteria as mentioned above under Educational Qualification.
Duty(ies)   i. Planning, implementation and monitoring of crop production oriented schemes like Integrated Farming System Development and watershed development/management in rain-fed areas.
ii. To maintain a closer interaction with the research on crop production technology and watershed development in rain-fed areas
iii. Project formulation & monitoring of different Projects
iv. Collection and compilation of information relating to Schemes and other related matters.
Probation   One year for Direct recruits

Note The period of one year for direct recruits shall include successful completion of mandatory induction training of two weeks duration.
Headquarters   New Delhi with liability to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
Other Details   General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
The post is permanent.
