Post Description

Pay Scale   Academic Level -14 (Rs. 1,44,200- 2,18,200)
Age   Not exceeding 53 years for Other Backward Class candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regular appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five Years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational

(i) A Ph.D Degree with First class at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engg. and experience of ten years in teaching, research and/or industry, out of which at least five years at the level of Assistant Professor Reader or equivalent grade.
OR
(ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential-

(a) First class Master’s Degree in Electrical Engg.

(b) Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a PhD Degree in Electrical Engg. and industrial/ professional experience of ten years, out of which at least five years at a senior level of Assistant Professor/ Reader.

Provided that the recognition for significant professional experience shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a three Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Competent Authority.

B. Experience
Ten years in teaching, research and/or industry, out of which at least 05 years at the level of Assistant Professor/Reader or equivalent grade.
Desirable Qualification (s)   (i) Teaching, Research, industrial and /or professional experience in a reputed organization.

(ii) Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/obtained books and/or technical reports.

(iii) Experience of guiding the project work/dissertation of PG/research students or supervising Research & Development projects industry.

(iv) Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and /or professional activities and

(v) Capacity to undertake/lead sponsored Research & Development consultancy and related activities.

Note- Qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Duty(ies)   Conducting classes/labs/hobby club/co-curricular activities, revision and development of curriculum ,supervision of the department, handling project works/terms paper, guidance in preparation of reports, evaluation of terms papers/project works& answer sheets, coordinating the departmental activities, general administration, preparation in community activities, conduct of Faculty Improvement Programmes.
Probation   01 year.

Other Details   General Central Service Group ‘A’ Gazetted Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
