Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level-10 (56,100-1,77,500) in pay matrix under CCS (RP) Rules, 2016. Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/- p.m. plus DA as applicable per month approximately
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UTs Govt. Servants upto 5 years’ as per instructions/orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational-
Master’s Degree in Geology from a recognised University or Institute.


B. Experience-
Three years experience in the field of Geology.

Note- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Works related to physical and structural geology, stress strain and rheological properties of rocks, classification of folds and faults and classification of rocks. Carrying out study of toposheets, stereographic projections, mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and hydrogeology. Conducting field tests, collections of samples from the project sites, conducting laboratory tests, compilations of test results, preparation of reports, formulation of project proposals, Research and development activities, publication of research papers, collection and maintenance of database on the area of studies. Undertake all work as assigned by Scientist D/Scientist C/Senior Officers from time to time.
Probation   One year
Headquarters   Headquarters is at Central Soil and Materials Research Station, New Delhi with All India Service Liability.
Other Details   The post is General Central Service, Group ‘A’,Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
