Pay Scale | Level 12 in the pay Matrix (Rs. 78800-209200/-) |
Age | Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 43 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s) |
A. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution or pass in Section A and Section B of the Associate Membership Examination in Mechanical Engineering branch from Institution of Engineers (India). B. EXPERIENCE- Ten years’ professional experience in Industrial Installation or engineering workshop (including at least two years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering in direct relation to plant and equipment used in mining). Note 1- The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 2- The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. Note 3- Only those candidates who were enrolled for Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE) up to 31.05.2013 are eligible for consideration to the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical) (Direct Recruitment) and the candidates who have enrolled on or after 01.06.2013 for AMIE are not eligible for consideration to the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical) (Direct Recruitment). |
Desirable Qualification (s) | Post-Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University /Institution. |
Duty(ies) | To inspect, examine and test mechanical installations in mines such as headgear, haulage and winding engines, cages, ropes etc and to prepare reports of such inspections. |
