Post Description

Pay Scale   Level 11 (Rs. 67,700-2,08,700/-)
Age   Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regular appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five Years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational-
(i) Master Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Horticulture or Post Harvest Management or Master Degree in Horticulture from a recognised University or Institute

(ii) Qualified the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – National Eligibility Test.

Note- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. Experience-
Five years experience in the field of Horticultural Development or Horticultural Extension or Horticultural Research or Nursery Management or Protected Cultivation or Post Harvest Management or Floriculture or Vegetable Production from Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administration or Public Sector Undertaking or Statutory Autonomous Organisation or recognised Research Institution or Universities.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Horticulture Specialist will be responsible for development/ refinement of technologies of horticultural crops specific to the region and in effective demonstration and transfer of technologies including training of officers, field functionaries, farmers and entrepreneurs. He will also be responsible for production of planting material of identified horticultural crops.
Probation   Two years for promotees or Direct recruits
Headquarters   Dimapur, Medziphema, Nagaland with liability to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
Other Details   General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
The post is permanent.
