Post Description

Pay Scale   Level 12 in the pay Matrix (Rs. 78800-209200/-)
Age   Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION-
(i) Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution or pass in Section A and Section B of the Associate Membership Examination in Mining Engineering branch from Institution of Engineers (India) incorporated by the Royal Charter, 1935.
(ii) First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate granted under the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 (Unrestricted) or under the Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961 (Unrestricted)

B. EXPERIENCE- Ten years’ experience in mining in large and Mechanized underground Mines.

Note 1- The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 2- The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Note 3- Only those candidates who were enrolled for Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE) up to 31.05.2013 are eligible for consideration to the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mining) (Direct Recruitment) and the candidates who have enrolled on or after 01.06.2013 for AMIE are not eligible for consideration to the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mining) (Direct Recruitment).
Desirable Qualification (s)   Post-Graduate Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Duty(ies)   Inspection of mines in connection with the enforcement of Mines Act, 1952 and the rules and regulations framed thereunder and any other duties that may be assigned.
Probation   One year
