Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level- 7 in the pay matrix (Rs.44,900-1,42,400/-)
Age   Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/ order issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   EDUCATION-Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

Note-1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

EXPERIENCE-Two years experience in core mining activity in-
(a) Supervisory position in Metalliferous (Non coal) mines, which includes the period as Graduate or Management or Junior Trainee Engineer or
(b) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals in level-6 in the pay matrix (Rs.35400-112400) or above.

Note-2 The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Schedule Castes or the Schedule Tribes if at any stage of selection the UPSC, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Duty(ies)   Inspection of mines for systematic development, conservation of minerals and protection of mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and rules made thereunder. To prefer court complaints for violations of Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act and rules made thereunder. To assist senior officers in inspection, field work,and report preparation. Technical data processing and retrieval as and when required. Any other duties that may be assigned by the superior officers.
Probation   02 (Two) years
Headquarters   HQ is in Nagpur(Maharashtra) with service liability anywhere in India.
Other Details   The post is General Central Service, Non-Ministerial, Group ‘B’, Gazetted,. The vacancies for the posts are permanent.
