Post Description

Pay Scale   LEVEL – 07 ( Rs. 44900 – 142400/-)
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government servants upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A.EDUCATIONAL
i. Degree of a recognized University
ii. Degree or equivalent diploma in Library Science from a recognized University or Institution.
Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
B.EXPERIENCEAbout 5 years’ experience in a Library of standing.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Knowledge of one or more of foreign languages.
Duty(ies)   i. To function as the head of library at the Head Office of this Survey.
ii. To supervise the work of Central and Regional Libraries.
iii. To prepare sectional budget, purchase of books & journals.
iv. To do such other duties as and when assigned by the Head of Office.
Probation   2 (two) years.
Headquarters   Kolkata (Post carries All India liability).
Other Details   (a) Governed by the New Pension Scheme of 01.01.2004
(b) The post is permanent and classified as General Central Service, Group-B Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
