Post Description

Pay Scale   (Pre revised scale PB 3 Rs. 15600-39100/- plus GP 5400/-) Pay Level 10 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56100-177500/- as per 7th CPC)
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL-

M.Tech in Remote Sensing or Geomatics or Geoinformatics with B.Tech in any branch or with B.Sc. in physics or Mathematics or Geography or Agriculture from a recognized University or Institute.

Note 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise will qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   One year’s experience in Remote Sensing and GIS Application in Agriculture.
Duty(ies)   -In season satellite data analysis for area estimation, change detection, data base compilation, inventory of image data, ancillary data, GIS data base, upgradation, stratification and sampling upgradation
- Ground Truthing (GT) collection and planning
- Yield Forecasting using agromet and spectral models
- Optimal combination of different sources data
- Establish mechanism for data downloading and uploading
- R&D activities related to remote sensing applications in agriculture.
Probation   One year for direct recruits
Headquarters   Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC), Pusa, New Delhi (but liable to serve in any part of India or abroad).
Other Details   General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted. (Non-Ministerial).
The post is permanent.
