Post Description

Pay Scale   Level-7 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 44900-142400/-) as per 7th CPC (Pre-revised scale of Rs. 9300-34800/- plus Grade Pay- Rs. 4600/- in PB-2)
Age   Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL Post Graduate Degree in Statistics / Operational Research / Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics or Post Graduate Degree in Economics / Mathematics / Commerce (with Statistics / Quantitative Method / Techniques or Costing & Statistics/Basic Statistics /Business Statistics / Introduction to Statistics etc. as one of subjects /papers in Post Graduation / Graduation level ) of a recognized University.

Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. EXPERIENCE One year’s experience of Statistical work involving collection, compilation and interpretation of Statistical data or planning work involving formulation, monitoring and evaluation of plan schemes.

Note The Qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes or Scheduled Tribes. If at any stage of selection the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

Duty(ies)   Formulation and preparation of budget/Revised Estimates, Monitoring & Evaluation of schemes, Programme/Project and drafting of Report, Collection, Compilation and analysis of various Statistical Data generated by Administrative Department and conduct of sample survey and census.
